The city and the networks

The chosen theme lies at the frontier between different specialist areas: as such, the subject allows methodological and chronological comparisons. In its potential vastness, the question of "networks" implies, more than ever, an overview, capable of placing the individual case in a broad historical and territorial context. It is not the story itself as much as it is its being part of a system: sometimes it is a realized system, other times a system that is only designed or even simply desired. In any case, the coherences between the fragment and the whole appear fundamental; to underline in other circumstances, is the relationship with the reference model.
