The new volume in the AISU Insights series Insights, La città dei giuristi / The City of Lawyers, edited by Marco Folin and Sara Menzinger, is now available.
The publication stems from the second conference in the project promoted by AISU, held in May 2025 at the Department of Law of Roma Tre University. The event brought together historians, legal scholars, architects, urban planners and archivists to discuss the many relationships between cities, law and legal practices.
The seventeen essays collected in the volume span more than seven centuries of urban history, from the fourteenth to the twenty-first century, and examine a wide range of geographical contexts, from Asmara to Los Angeles and from Lima to Mexico City, as well as several Italian cities. Together, they offer an interdisciplinary reflection on the role played by law in defining, organizing, governing and transforming urban space.
The volume is freely available to read and download from the section dedicated to the AISU Insights series. Insights.
